Last Friday we were up at Shendish Manor in Hertfordshire for Kat & Phils wedding reception.

It was probably the hottest wedding day I can remember working at in the past few years, in fact it was so hot that the venue actually provided 3 fans around the dancefloor.

We arrived to provide our Plug & Play package at around 5pm while the meal was taking place. Access to the manor house at Shendish Manor is nice and easy, straight through the front door and into the hallway where the disco sets up for the evening.

The venue provide a standard mahogany dancefloor, but you do have the option to upgrade to one of our sparkly white or black floors or even a black and white chequered version if you prefer. Its not a huge area so a 16×16 would be the ideal size, whats great here is that the bar is also just a few steps from the dance floor which ensures guests are on or around the dance floor throughout the evening.

Kat and Phil then cut the cake and moved straight into the first dance at around 8pm …and had the dancefloor rocking as they performing their own choreographed dance routine to Frank Sinatra followed by Happy by Pharrell Williams.

The stifling humidity meant guests returned to the outside areas to enjoy the remainder of the early evening sun, so we filled in this time by playing a set of some Jazz for some of the older guests as requested by the bride and groom which was perfect as guests saved their energies for later in the evening.

By around 930 with darkness starting to fall the ambience of the lighting started to make an impact and by 10pm the dancefloor was rocking again with the night finishing on a lively couple of hours of Motown, Rock, Pop and some latest dance tunes.

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Logan on their special day and their future together.

A great week of weather is forecast with my birthday on Monday, next weekend we are back in the groove at three weddings including a ‘house party’ on the beach in Whitstable where I am setting up in a cabana, plus a trip to Bradbourne House and Buxted Park.
