Last Friday saw our yearly regular gig at the 2013 SWALE Business Awards. As usual this years “oscars style” event was hosted by The Barnyard at Upchurch, a venue which we have played at several times previously for weddings. The evening is regarded as the borough’s most important yearly business awards event giving companies to showcase their business and make a mark on the community by entering, and winning an award.

We arrived at the venue on a very wet and windy Friday afternoon firstly to set up the disco in the marquee venue before the guests arrival at 630, usually for weddings we would use the stage that the venue provide however with it being an awards ceremony the stage was to be used for presenting the awards.
Our role this evening was to provide background music for the nominees arrival and then during the meal whilst Julia grabbed all the candid photography. The awards ceremony takes place following the meal, Julia is then on hand to photograph the presentation of the certificates, awards as I play upbeat snippets of music for the winners as they make their way to the stage to collect their awards. Following the awards the evening finishes with a disco which proved to be a very lively couple of hours to end a great evening at The Barnyard.
