After Good Friday’s visit to Lympne Castle for Katherine & Craigs wedding, day 2 of the busy Easter weekend saw our first visit to Savill Court Hotel in Surrey for the wedding reception of Nicki and Nick.

Savill Court Hotel boasts several impressive function rooms, however Nicki & Nicks special day took place in The Orangery environment. Its a lovely environment with a nice warm feeling and an impressive outlook onto parkland, of which Savill Court has 200 acres.

We arrived around 6pm for a room turnaround set up, Savill Court Hotel provide a 16 x 16 standard mahogany dance floor and several uplighters so no need to book uplighting for this venue however if you wanted to upgrade your dance floor we stock white starlit and black starlit floors or a chequered option which can all be seen in our upgrades section of our brochure on the packages page.

For Djs visiting the venue the access is very straight forward, you can more or less pull straight up to the door and your straight into the room. The ceiling is very high, however the use of haze was prohibited but one good thing is that even though the room is fitted with a sound limiter I was told that I could put the PA power through a seperate socket ensuring that there was no disruption to the evening.

Set up takes place in front of the windows which do have blackout curtains so if your first dance is in the summer the room can be made very ambient.

Music on the night included pretty much everything including Motown, Disco, Soul, Funk, R&B, Hip Hop, Electro House, 90s Dance, Indie Rock and party classics requested by the bridge and groom. It was all too much for Nick the groom who ended the night without his shirt following a festival style jumping session with his pals to the Arctic Monkeys before performing a firemans lift on one of the female guests, in fact it wasn’t the only show of flesh as one other guest removed his trousers during a funk set earlier in the night.

The night ended with some guests on chairs taking photos of the mayhem on the floor as the bride and half naked groom ended the night getting bundled through an arch built by everyone on the floor.

Great night, great fun, lovely venue …and all the best to the new Mr & Mrs Leavey !
