Following last nights fantastic evening in Gravesend at Nikki’s 40th, just 24 hours later we were back to my hometown my Eltham for Lesley’s 50th at The Pavilion in Footscray Road.

The afternoon got off to a disappointing start as I was at The Valley to see Charltons poor form continue with a 1-0 home defeat to Ipswich, but despite the increasingly frequent misery at The Valley this season there’s always the consolation of going to work afterwards and ending the day on a high 😀

With just a short journey back to Eltham we arrived at the venue around 530, Lesley had booked uplighting to set off the hall at the venue along with our Party Photographer to capture all the images throughout the evening. The hall is pretty big, reminded me of being the perfect environment for an old school disco. and the venue have installed plenty of heaters for the walls which is great as it warms up the hall pretty quick on a cold night.

There is plenty of room for tables whilst keeping a decent sized dance floor and for DJs there is a nice stage along the side, the access is pretty good also as you can get quite close to the entrance doors. There is no sound limiter fitted there and you can use plenty of smoke for effects without setting off any fire alarms. The members bar is seperate from the hall but its very close by for guests to grab their drinks throughout the night.

With the scene set by 730 the guests had a nice champagne arrival laid on by Lesley and following some background music we cracked on with the disco from around 9pm through until the close at midnight with family and friends, the birthday girl and her daughter hardly off the floor for the entire evening for a very enjoyable evening amongst a lovely group of people. Music stretched through pretty much all the decades including some latest chart sounds for the younger crowd.

Towards the end Lesley’s daughter made an impromptu and emotional visit to the mic to thank her mum for everything before all guests piled onto the floor for the final 20 minutes as Lesley took centre stage.

Congratulations to Lesley, looking great at 50 🙂
