After our trip to the Kent coast on Friday night we were back at one of our regular wedding venues last Saturday for Jayne and Martin’s wedding, the reception took place in The Orangery part of the building which is used to host the Civil Ceremonies during the afternoon.
Jayne had booked in only a couple of months before the wedding and with the majority of couples being 40+ the emphasis music wise was very much on the older party classics including Rock, Jive, Motown, Disco, Soul, 80’s and 90’s Pop Charts.
The Orangery has been updated in recent times and is now a nice clean white blank canvas perfect for creative mood lighting. With it being quite a small room we didn’t want to overpower it with the arch, plus it’s not possible to use haze in the venue so we set up a minimalistic way using two moving head plinths and some barrels attached to the speaker poles, we also installed 6 blue uplighters to give the room a splash of colour and also added a very effective rippling water light which we projected down the corridor.
We arrived at 5pm and the first dance got underway at 8pm as the new Mr & Mrs Broughton took their first dance to Breads ” Baby I’m A Want You”, many congratulations to the newlyweds and if your reading this Jayne many thanks for your vote in the National Wedding Industry Awards 🙂
