After two amazing nights in Richmond and Sidcup the final word of an exhausting weekend was at the Tyler Watt Memorial Hall in Canterbury. The party was attended by around 30 of the birthday girls friends, mostly girls and the party kicked off at 7:30pm, because of the age of the girl’s we arn’t posting any photos from the gig but everyone had a great time dancing to latest chart and dance music all night long right up until the scheduled finish at 11:00pm.
As far as the venue is concerned for any DJ’s visiting there it’s a great venue in every respect. If you gain access via the gate at the overflow car park you can drive right up to a door which leads straight into the hall, there is a small stage but it doesn’t sit symetrically in the room so I set up along the far wall. There are some wooden uprights against the wall which are great for uplighting, once the lights are out they look very much like pillars. As the access was so easy we spent a bit of that extra time setting up a fairly large light show including 4 floor standing moving heads, 2 martin scanners and a martin wizard, we also projected some video club visuals onto our white lycra booth to give the environment a clubby feel to make the party feel extra special for the birthday girl and her friends, the use of smoke really set off a great light show.
