Emma & David – Brickendonbury Conference Centre, Herts 12/10/2013
Emma & David’s special day was the last wedding of the 2013 season in the marquee at Brickendonbury Conference Centre, Hertfordshire (also known as Brickendonbury Mansion).
We set up early in the afternoon inside the marquee so that everything was in place before the meal and played background music during the meal until the evening reception got underway at around 8pm. It was a new venue for ourselves and we were very impressed with what they had to offer.
It’s quite a large marquee and during the daytime the venue screen off the disco area and the bar, which I think is a great idea as the transformation from daytime to evening once all the lighting is set up is a huge change. Emma & David’s playlist included Latest Charts, R&B, Garage and some general party tunes so we set up a large lightshow to compliment the music for the evening. While we were there we managed to film the following video to show what an impressive environment the disco area is with its blackout marquee sides and ceiling, it really feels like this venue have put a lot of thought into the entertainment side of the wedding which is great and the fact its a marquee means there’s no restriction on the use of haze so we managed to get the full effects of our lighting.
Permanent installs at the venue include a large stage, white dancefloor, spotlights, mirrorball and cocktail style seating and tables, it is fully deserving of a stunning lightshow and good sized sound system to suit the environment, a small set up would just be lost and devalue the potential for what you can achieve here in terms of the atmosphere. Not seen in the video is a fantastic LED bar, definately check that out with the venue as its another great feature.
If your looking for a venue in Hertfordshire that focuses on creating the perfect atmosphere for the disco this is one of the best I have played at.
