Chelsea cuts a shape

After yesterdays 20 hour day at High Rocks for Mel & Chris’s wedding in Tunbridge Wells we were back again later on Sunday at The Little Silver Country Hotel, also known as “The Jewel In The Weald” for a gem of an evening in Tenterden.

I’ve always enjoyed playing at this venue as have always had a great night here, the acoustics of the room are great, the uplighting looks really effective up the walls, access is great, staff are excellent and I just generally find it a nice environment to work in. It’s a very relaxed venue with the bar right next to the dancefloor and its just one of those venues that seems very easy for guests to indulge in the evening.

Chelsea had booked pink uplighting so we got this set up first which was straight after the meal at around 7pm once the top table had been cleared to make space for our set up.

Something that I thought looked fab in the room that I hadn’t previously seen at The Little Silver before is a white starlit backdrop, I’m not usually a fan of twinkly flashing lights but this one was static and looked very classy… it looked really great in the hall and would of given huge benefit to Chelsea and Matthews daytime photos of the top table with it as the backdrop and gives an equally nice backdrop of my own DJ booth. It’s definately something that enhances the room although I’m not sure if its an upgraded package the venue offer which is maybe why it wasn’t there earlier in the year on my previous visits, or it may possibly be a new touch the venue have incorporated. If your planning to get married at the venue then definately worth having it, maybe if someone from the venue is reading this they could leave us a comment at the bottom of this page and let us know if it comes as standard ?

Chelsea’s great taste in music was reflected throughout the evening without any sign of cheese as we played through the latest charts, garage, house and R&B going back as far as the 90s, its what she wanted to party to with her friends and family on her special night and I was more than happy to oblige in those genres for her. I think the only two tracks that slightly deviated were two requests from her very young looking dad at the end of the night for a couple of 80’s tracks.

The first dance was one i hadn’t played before, “Ave Maria” by Beyonce which worked really well and I hope its used more often… it will certainly always remind me of this one. I’ve got a feeling its a particular favourite of groom Matthew as i noticed a big smile on his face as I pressed play for their first dance as a married couple and he was more animated than any groom I’ve seen before particularly during the chorus.

So an excellent end to a very enjoyable weekend and we wish Chelsea & Matthew and their young family all the very best for the future… and first and foremost their honeymoon to Sharm El Sheikh.

We are back at the weekend with the conclusion of Septembers weddings on Friday and Saturday… with a recent upturn in UK temperatures it looks like being a warm October as the 2013 wedding season enters its final month before the countdown begins to the corporate season and christmas weddings.
